I was nervous about the hundred mile wilderness. I had planned on taking eight days to get threw, but it took me eleven. Thankfully I had plenty of of food. I had carried in six days and ten days of lunches so I didn't have to hurry out. I could have gotten out a day earlier. I did about fourteen miles on day one and day two. This is too much for me to do every day. I climbed chair back and white cap mountains both were very nice and had spectacular views. The day after White Cap my legs didn't come back and they were tired when I started to hike the next day. So I did a short day about four miles. Then two short seven mile days. The AWOL guide made it look like the last twenty ish miles of the wilderness is flat but it isn't it goes up or down the whole way A hundred up and down and repeat. For tired legs it was a killer The last day I was going to do twelve miles out but there were two men Buddha and friend and the were starting a fire So I stopped I could have made it to Shaws but the fire was good and my knee was hurting. Two days later Buddha came off trail saying that the trail had given him all he needed. He had just gone through a divorce and he was looking for his future. Buddha had hiked from New Jersey to seven miles from Monson ME At the Hurd lean-to I met Social. He was a great guy. He I and Mini hiked together from Katahdin springs to Na. ...... (can't remember the whole name) but at Na... I got there just at dark and was completely out of e energy. So I never saw them again. At the food drop Social left me a message saying that he would give me a great zero day when I git to VA. Social is a very good guy and he is social. Mini she is an amazon who has been hiking a lot lot with her dog She was unhappy because she didn't have her dog. She had been thinking that it would be too hot for her dog to be safe. She is good people
